A Favor For A Dying Friend

Lorretta Turner has a Christian friend who is dying of cancer. She has a 2-year old cat named Tiger Boy. You guessed it, the kitty has tiger stripes. Tiger boy is a house cat that has all his shots, has been neutered and declawed. He comes with a fancy litter box, toys, dishes, and some food. Lorretta's friend wants to make sure Tiger Boy has a good loving home before she goes home to be with the Lord. Can you help? If you can, email billkritlow@gmail.com.

Savior - a Renee Hajj Poem

I rise in the morning
thankful for his care
A new day has started
my Savior is there

The touch of his hand
I feel in the breeze
My Savior is calling
tis him I must please

His beauty surrounds me
his wonders I see
His words still amaze me
"Walk closer with thee"

The earth is filled with his Mercy and Grace
The wonders of heaven, GOD shows me his face

A day set aside for Worship and Praise
his Blessings in abundance flow
His guiding hand reaching out to the lost
In us, his forgiveness will show

We are his soldiers
his work we must do
show others our Savior
til life on this earth is through

A life everlasting
is what we receive
Faith in our Savior
trust and believe

Baby Rabbit by Darrell Beck

We could learn from the baby rabbit that I encountered as a boy.

In Minnesota, before chemical weed control, we plowed in the fall and let the soil lay fallow till spring. This allowed weed seeds to sprout and be killed by the spring soil preparation.

One day while plowing a 60 acre field a baby rabbit was running just ahead of my furrow wheel and was in danger of being run over. I slowed way down and waited for it to crawl exhausted out of the way.

The next round there it was again, and the next, and the next as well. I finally stopped the tractor with the intention of carrying it a distance into the plowed ground to where it's nest might have been.

As I stopped and came around the rear tire of the 1937 WC Allis Chalmers, it commenced to scurrrr and attacked me, thinking of rabies, I gave up the rescue mission and waited for it to get out of the way again.

Are we less than a Baby Rabbit? To this day when attacked, I look, listen and stand my ground. His life has served me well.

On the Lookout for the Artist

I taught kids Sunday School this morning and when all was done and we were waiting for parents to show up, Victoria, 9, and Shilee, 8, started drawing on the white board. Below are their pictures, both flowers. This was Victoria's second creative foray. While watching a puppet show we put on, she wrote a little puppet play. It was charming. My point is this, when we come upon a youngster who's really putting themselves out there artistically, let's take notice, encourage them, and above all, tell them about God's creative spark within them, and God's Spirit who'll take up residence when they take Jesus as their personal Lord and Savior. I love these two kids, and I can hardly wait to see how God works with their talents, and their lives.

Our Next Meeting - Nov 11th

We're doing what creative Christian do best - creating for Christ! As you read in the latest blog post, our November 11th meeting (7pm, First Baptist Church, back of campus) will be a project meeting. Creativity and our desire to Wow! firmly in hand, we'll begin to prepare for our premier outing - First Friday, December 6th, at Susan Palmer's Tehachapi Christian Store. The meeting will start with a brief message, and then we'll make things happen. If you've not attended before, this is the perfect time to come - we all want your creative input, your unique presence and artistic flare as part of this debut. We want TCAF to show the Christian community the impact creative Christians can make for Christ!

TCAF Class "Structuring a Novel With Impact"

TCAF, in league with the TehachapiChristian Store (TCS), announces a 2 hour class (discussion) entitled Structuring a Novel for Impact at the TCS on November 19th, at 7PM.

Are you working on a novel, or would like to start? Bill Kritlow published his first novel in 1994 after writing diligently for nearly 41 years. He'd like your experience to move much more quickly. The class will give the basics of structuring a novel, creating characters, and getting it all to say what you want it to, but it will also help you structure all of it to have real, lasting impact on the reader, make you reader willing to listen, and perhaps even become an advocate.

After the first of the year we will have a class on taking this techniques and using them to write and impactful Christian Novel. Watch for it.

The class is free, and thought "walk-ins" are welcome, it would be greatly appreciated, so we have enough chairs and refreshments, if you take a moment and email billkritlow@gmail.com and let him know you'll be there.

We can't believe how God's working here!

This will be a "Coffee Shop" meeting. What's that mean? In our creative heads we turn the meeting room into the kind of coffee shop we all wish me could find. A place where we're free to present, free to enjoy, free to be who we are, free to encourage and accept encouragement. There'll be refreshments, tables to sit at, a stage for us to present in turn. Poets present their poetry, painters present their work, writers to read their stuff, actors to perform, musicians to bring us their sweet sounding artistry. If you've never been before, this is the time to come and be encouraged, nurtured, and loved. See you there.
